Prima Speak is a live speaking coach, operated by Octag AI LLC and contactable at hello@primaspeak.com. To coach you it has to hear you. This page says exactly what that means for your data, in plain words.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address (or the identity your Google or Apple account shares), your base language, the languages you learn and your chosen level. We use it to sign you in and keep your progress.
- Your voice, while a session is open. Audio from your microphone is streamed to our server and on to Google's Gemini Live API for the duration of a session. It is used to coach you in real time. We do not keep the audio. The transcript of the session and the report (words per minute, filler penalty, missed words, Fluency Score) are stored in your account so you can review them; you can delete any session.
- The subtitles of what you watch, in Chrome. The extension reads the captions of the page you are on and keeps a rolling thirty-second buffer in memory to decide when to pause. Captions are sent to our server only while a session is open. We never read the video itself, and nothing is kept once the session ends.
- Camera frames, in vision mode. When you turn the camera on, still frames are sent for the task at hand and discarded. We do not store them.
- Your words. The Vocab Vault holds the words you asked for or missed, with their meanings, so they can come back on a schedule.
- Usage analytics. Which screens you open, how long sessions last and which plan you are on, through Google Analytics, without your name or audio. Ad blockers and "do not track" settings are respected.
- Payments. Stripe (web), Apple and Google (apps) handle payment details. We never see your card number; we receive a receipt and a subscription status.
What Prima remembers
So the next session can pick up where the last one left off, Prima keeps a few short notes between sessions: things you mentioned about your life (your job, a trip, your dog's name) and the language worth practising again ("por vs para"). After a session ends, a text model reads that session's transcript once and writes these notes; audio is never used for this and never kept. The notes stay in your account, only you can see them, and they are never used for advertising or shared.
We never note your health, religion, politics, sexuality, ethnicity or immigration status, money, anything to do with the law, or anything that identifies or locates you, even if you mention it. A child's profile keeps no personal notes at all, only the language to practise.
In Settings, "See what Prima remembers" lists every note: delete any line, or everything. Turn "Prima remembers" off and the notes are deleted and no new ones are made.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not train models on your voice. We do not read your video. We do not send notifications unless you said yes, and every kind has its own switch.
Children
Kids mode exists only on the family plan, after a parent has verified their consent. A child's profile has no open-ended chat and no personal questions; sessions end at five minutes; the parent gets a report after each one. We collect nothing from a child beyond the session transcript that the parent can see and delete.
Where your data lives
Accounts, progress and vocabulary are stored in Google Cloud (Firebase) in the region shown in your account settings. Live audio is processed by Google's Gemini Live API under Google's terms; it is not used to train Google's models.
Your rights
You can export your data and delete your account from the dashboard settings at any time. Deleting your account removes your transcripts, reports and vault within thirty days, and immediately from the app. You can also write to hello@primaspeak.com. If you are in the EU, the UK, California or another place with a data-protection law, you have the rights that law gives you, and we honour them without asking you to prove why.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we say so in the app and by email before it takes effect. The date at the top is the last change.
